Lawrence of Arabia, stars Peter O'Toole in his first starring role as T.E Lawrence, Alec Guiness, or shall I say Obi-Wan Kenobi as Prince Feisel.
Ofcourse there are many more characters than meets the eye, or well, above. But lets get right down to the meaty parts! The crew of Lawrence of Arabia, showed the desert like no other movie had before, so realistic, almost magical, the golden dunes and the menacing rocks, made for an almost uncanny film experiance, I can almost sense how people must of reacted to first see the two insignifigant camels trudge machine like across the desert, so amazing. I myself, growing up in the age of remakes, and cheap computer effects, was so amazed that someone could picture a place like this and put it on tape.
But I'm overlooking another major aspect of this film, the writing, oh, the writing, how could I overlook the writing? Such fast-paced and witty lines, I found myself quoting them on a day-to-day basis, Alec Guiness, everyone naturally will remeber from one of the highest grossing films of all-time, played such a huge character. Now I'm not just talking main here, he played Prince Feisal so well, that I could picture myself there worshiping him, bringing him water and food, oh, and I would enjoy it.
But also another huge actor showed his face in this excellent movie, Omar Sheriff, or Doctor Zhizago, played such a strong role as Ali, that I wanted to fight along side him, and see what he would say. He played one of those characters that you just considered stone, you never really noticed him until the end, when you say to yourself, "Wow!"
But what about Peter O'Toole, I'm sure those of you who haven't seen this movie would say, "Oh, I'm sure he's going to make a lot of rookie mistakes!" And I'd laugh and tell you of how I believe that he played his best role, apart from The Lion in Winter, a long side of Katherine Hepburn.
Ofcourse that's just me, see it for yourself!
